The Greene County farmers market apologizes for the political post that got posted Aug. 22. “

“We want to reassure you that the Greene County farmers market did not post the political ad. We were unfortunately hacked into and have since then taken down the post and reported it to Facebook administration, said Danielle Ross, farmers market manager and president of the Thomas Jefferson Gardens board.

“As far as politics and the farmers market go, we do not allow political campaigning at the farmers market. It just isn’t the place for it.

“As far as its host, Thomas Jefferson Gardens of Greene County, we do not promote one political side over another either. We choose to remain neutral and offer ‘Meet Your Legislat or’ events so people can be informed about current situations and have a neutral place to ask questions. Any political campaigning events held at Thomas Jefferson Gardens are paid rentals, which go to supporting all the amenities we offer our community for free.

“We would like to thank everyone for bringing this issue to our attention and hope to continue to have your support.”
